Yet another fantastic NHL playoff day
And I say that even though Montreal lost. I love the playoffs. There’s really nothing to fix. I’m looking at the game, wondering if there’s anything about the game that is dull or can otherwise be improved upon. And, I got almost nothing. The game was just that good.
The one place I think could have been an instant replay on a non-penalty shot call (but was called a hooking penalty nonetheless). I think the ref got fooled because the guy who got hooked was not making a bee line to the goalie, but more side-to-side. So, the hook could have been perceived as if the offensive player might have been not clearly in front of the defensive player. But, that’s an extremely odd situation. Almost all the time, the guy is on a breakaway or near-breakaway making the bee-line to the goalie. So, this wouldn’t be my test case for bringing in replay.
