Working harder (or easier) to achieve the same result

By Tangotiger, 12:35 PM

Good stuff from AJ.

I remember when I was testing my pitch count estimator against actual data, the one guy that would stand out as being an outlier was Greg Maddux.  He simply threw far fewer pitches than I can estimate, based on the outcome.  Basically, he was extremely efficient, or unorthodox.

I haven’t checked, but AJ is suggest that Doc Halladay, up until this year anyway, exhibited some level of efficiency as well.
