Why won’t MLB allow videos to be embedded?

Almost every single other video source allows for easy embedding.  The NHL goes out of their way to post their videos right on YouTube.  It’s great advertising, things can go viral.  It’s just snippets of a game, or a play.  I know I’m very grateful for all those great soccer goal videos, otherwise, I wouldn’t even know soccer existed in this country.  If MLB thinks global, why would they not want these videos to spiral worldwide?

Then again, MLBAM is hugely successful, so what do I know?
