Which sport has the best athletes?

By Tangotiger, 11:08 AM

Bill James:

Baseball has by far the best athletes of any sport.  We always have had.

I don’t know what makes someone the best “athlete”.  Presuming it’s someone that can compete in Olympic events (say the decathalon or triatholon), then I don’t see how any professional sport can compete with soccer players.  Even if it was soccer against all other pro sports in the world combined, the top soccer players would still outclass the top non-soccer players.  Would it even be close?
