What’s the coolest number in sports?

By Tangotiger, 10:50 AM

Poz had suggested #32.  He also wants to know the 2nd coolest number, and one that is substantially lower than 32.  In the process of listing some alternatives, for #9 he did not mention a single hockey player.  Poz has mentioned hockey quite a few times.  And indeed, probably the coolest number in hockey is #9.  You’ve got Gordie Howe, Maurice Richard, and Bobby Hull.  And instead, Poz listed… Mia Hamm?

No worries Poz… that’s what happens when you do lists.  You always forget someone.  Anyway, #14 is not cool in hockey.  My guess would have been 4, 7, 9, or 19.

So, what are the top 4 or 5 cool numbers in each sport (under 32), and let’s see if we can intersect somewhere.
