Top Prospect List to end all Top Prospect List

By Tangotiger, 02:01 PM

Whoah, great stuff from Joe.

And he’s been doing this for a few years now?  Wow.  This is what should happen:
1. Locate all these files
2. Assign an MLBAM Id to each player
3. Post it as a downloadable csv file for easy DB importing

Ideally, this will go back as many years as possible.  I’d love it for Sickels, Goldstein, Baseball America, et al to donate their old lists for historical research purposes.  Kevin sent me one of his a while back for a 5-yr period.  I think Sickels sent me something too (I’ll have to look).  But, really, anything more than two or three years old should be posted for public use.

The key though is to get an MLBAM Id linked to each name.  Somebody has to be in charge of doing that big legwork on that one.  It will not be pleasant.

Glove-slap: Wizard.
