To Pujols or not to Pujols

By Tangotiger, 02:49 PM

Suppose you have a 90 win team that is made up of Albert Pujols, Felix Hernandez and the rest of the team is overall league-average (and follows a typical distribution of talent).

Suppose you have a second 90 win team, but there are no superstars on the team, just a typical distribution of talent, such that the #1 and #2 best players are noticeably worse than Pujols/Felix, but #3 - #25 are slightly better than the other 23 players on the Pujols/Felix team. Overall, as I said, both teams are true talent 90 wins.

Question: which team would you pay more for?
