Ticket prices by seat location

By Tangotiger, 09:45 AM

Sky does all the hard work in showing prices of seats for the new-ish stadiums at a bunch of different seat locations.

I remember the old days, I’d pick up the pocket calendar of the Expos, look at the color-coded seating chart (some 5 or 6 colors), pick out the section and games I wanted, and boom, try to get the best seat possible for that price at the box office.

I also think this is the best way to approach a scalper (and used car salesman): you tell him your price, and then ask for the best ticket (or car) to match it.  They will be so disoriented by the question, not being prepared for it, that they’ll give you almost fair value.  I did this back when I was younger, looking for a used car, and I said “Show me the best car you have for 10K, tax and fees included”.  He showed me a Corolla, and he said it’s 12K.  I told him “I did tell you 10K, right?” So, I walked out.  I repeated this for a Civic, and I walked out with it at 10K (book price was 11K).  Same deal with tickets.  I would say: “Give me your best seats for 50$ a ticket, no higher.” So he scans through his tickets, and I end up with better than I thought I could get.  Try it next time…
