The search for r=1

WPA correlates at 100% with wins.

If the purpose is to get r=1, then it’s very easy to construct a stat to get r=1.  But, for the love of God, that’s not the purpose of a stat.

The sole purpose of a stat is to illuminate, and to do so with as little bias as possible and as much logic as possible.  If that means that you’ll end up with r=.32, then great, I’ll choose that to a stat with lots of bias and little logic and r=.99.  For those who insist on the latter, then start and end your stat-making with R+RBI.
