Team that’s losing plays better

By Tangotiger, 03:11 PM

The Freako gang speaks.

I can tell you that in the NHL, when a team is down by exactly 2 goals, the team that is down scores more goals than the team that is ahead.  I don’t remember all my numbers, and I’m sure Gabe or some other hockey analyst can give the right data.  It was something like when a goal is scored, 52% of the time it was scored by the home team… except when the home team was up by 2.  In which case, the road team scored 52% of the next goal.  Don’t quote me on the numbers, but it was something like that.
