Squeezing Brandon League
Jonathan shows that umpires are having a doozy of a time with getting Brandon League strikes called as strikes. While the average pitcher would have gotten 10 pitches of 42 random in-zone pitches as called balls, Brandon League has gotten 18 such pitches called balls, which is 3 standard deviations (since this is cherry-picked, it doesn’t sound as impressive, except it doesn’t appear to be random). It’s possible that his massive sinker is a bit hard for an umpire to call.
