Rum and Coke
In my first economics class (ECON 101), the professor was talking about complementary goods (I think that’s what it was called), two items that are useless apart, but perfect together. His example was “left shoe and right shoe”. Then the peanut gallery chimed in: “Rum and Coke!” (Speaking as someone who rarely drinks alcohol, and who rarely drinks any carbonated beverage, I found that example apt.)
Dubner chimes in on the latest trends in two perfectly good items that are even better together.
What are yours, and bonus points for making it a sports theme. Let me try.... Ball and bat, stick and puck. Hmmmm… complete lack of imagination on my part.
