RIP Billy Beane, genius; Welcome Billy Beane, average guy

Tom Verducci’s article is basically an ode to Billy Beane no longer being ahead of his time, because everyone else is now Billy Beane.  It’s Babe Ruth paving the way for Jimmie Foxx, Lou Gehrig and Mel Ott.

I don’t know that I necessarily agree with Verducci, but this is the picture he paints.
