Ricky Gervais
Last year, when he said on the Golden Globes, while holding a mug of beer: “I like my alcohol as much as the next man… unless that next man is Mel Gibson!”, and Mel came out… who mockingly stumbled like a drunk to the podium.... that was brilliant. And more of that stuff was on display on Sunday. Here’s Gervais on his blog talking about it:

I love this guy. When you take the handcuffs from creative people like Gervais, you get what you saw. When you put handcuffs on, you get Chris Rock at the Oscars. “I want you to be funny.... but only under the following conditions.” It’s the corporate America middle-manager syndrome.
