Prince Fielder v Adrian Gonzalez

By Tangotiger, 02:09 PM

Excellent article at ESPN, as it did not just gloss over the fielding difference between Gonzalez and DH-wannabe Prince Fielder.  You get the younger Fielder, but you also get:

The question, then, becomes how much of a defensive discount should the team that signs Fielder expect?

A mainstream article that was grounded in sabermetrics, and mentioned one sabermetric staple (play-by-play fielding runs saved) without hitting you over the head with it.  If this is the future, then ESPN is doing well.
