Poz being wrong is right
I was away this weekend, so I had no idea what happened at the PGA. But, reading this, and I was thinking, “another article that predicted the future, but only written after the events actually happened”. You know how it goes… actually, let me just quote Poz, because I see this all. the. time.:
And then, everyone understood. THIS was actually the moment. Woods would make hit par putt. Yang would miss his. They would be tied going into the 18th hole. And then, well, then the predictable would happen, just like always. It was so clear as Tiger lined up his putt, so blindingly obvious. In that instant it was almost painful to think about all the emotions that everyone had invested in Yang.
With a Poz article, you don’t know where he’s going to go. If this was anybody else, I would already have known that Tiger won the match. That’s because nobody would ever admit to making a losing bet and then telling everyone about it. But with Joe, I was hoping that he would maybe give me a twist. Not necessarily that Tiger lost, but something to show me that Joe is not the prognosticator that every other sportswriters fancies himself to be (how come they don’t bet and make millions?).
Joe did not disappoint.
