Player Won-Loss Records
I had this thread from two years ago about converting WPA into Wins and Losses. This is basically a retelling/expansion of that thread, using the 2009 Royals as the example.
This is a starting point. I am not handling fielders in this illustration, nor am I handling the starter-relief issue. That would be part of a more advanced implementation. For now, this is just to get the basic idea out there.
And the basic idea is to represent the Royals 65-97 record on a player-by-player basis, such that it is summable. That is, the sum of the parts equals the whole. And to do that, we start with WPA.
