Pitching Around Batters
This was an excerpt from The Book, and written by Andy. I don’t think I ever linked to it:
In short, we simply cannot find any evidence to suggest that the pitcher’s approach has any significant impact on the batter’s stats, aside from the obvious changes in walks and strikeouts.
This is the kind of work that needs to be done, not just the running in place discussions regarding protection.
