Pedro speaks

By Tangotiger, 11:29 AM

Location, location, location:

PM: I learned to locate really well after the ‘96 season, and that helped me later on.
DP: What happened in 1996 to help you with your control?
PM: It was really just maturity. That’s it, no secret: maturity.
...
DP: What was the best thing about playing in Montreal?
PM: Montreal was the best city I’ve played in. It was calm, and it had nice people. Montreal was just what I needed at that age. I have great memories there, especially playing for Felipe (Alou).
DP: Were the ‘94 Expos the best team you ever played for?
PM: Right up there. Maybe not the best, though.
DP: Then were the 2004 Red Sox the best team you’ve played for?
PM: Yeah, probably. I’d say them.

Interestingly, Pedro gave up runs at 80% of the league average in both seasons.
