On paper, would Beimel have been a better option than Street, versus Howard?

Yes and no. Yes, if that were the only batter they had to face. No, given that someone would have to face Werth, a righty, and perhaps some more batters, around 30% of the time. I think that’s the right answer, but I also think it is close either way.
