Number lists with Joe Poz

By Tangotiger, 01:13 PM

Lists, lists, lists.  Joe Poz gives us his “best players wearing jersey number” 0 to 99 list.  When I see these kinds of lists, I ask these questions of the author:
1. Does he even think of hockey players?
2. If he does, is #20 Tretiak?
3. Does he recognize the greatness of #30 Raines?

Poz is fantastic, because he nails #1, #2, #3.  That tells me he took a good deal of care.

Not sure why he did not include Larry Robinson, nor Jean Beliveau, or Jacques Plante, among others.  All this proves is that someone can take a great deal of care in doing these kinds of trivial lists, and still end up missing the giants of their sports.
