Nick Punto

Or, the one player that most people will say: “Yeah, he’s a pretty good fielder at all the three infield positions, but that can’t overcome his terrible hitting”.

Really?  It can’t?  Because you can’t see how it’s possible that it could?  That’s what I hate the most about these “overall evaluations” that people come up with on the fly.  They’ll concede we know how to value hitting, they may concede that he’s a good or even great fielder.  But then, they’ll downplay something in there (his fielding, or his walk rate) or overplay something (his lack of power), and then come to a summary conclusion with no evidence that Punto is Willie Bloomquist.  That of course is bullsh!t.
