My first board game

By Tangotiger, 12:33 PM

The baseball one was called Extra Innings by Jack Kavanaugh.  It was designed exceptionally well, and without the need for any cards!  Indeed, you had all the teams on something like 5 sheets.  It was brilliant in its simplicity, and yet did not cut corners in realism.  Someone converted it into a PC game.  (I haven’t tried it.)

The football one (a generic) was named after Lombardi.  It was one huge board, maybe 3x3 feet, and it had it all.  I loved it.

The football one (team-specific) was from a Canadian company and it was called CFL Sports Action.  Again, brilliant in its simplicity, and yet realistic and very playable.  This one had cards.  Loved it.

I’ve tried all the hockey ones, and none were good.

I haven’t played a board game since I left high school, so I don’t know how much things have changed.
