Mariners’ social ticket-sharing
I remember when we had Canadiens season tickets, there was a group of 8 of us that split the 40 home games (80 tickets). We were still in our 20s, and lucky for us, we all worked together, and walking distance from Le Forum. It was fairly easy to do the draft at lunch time. We did it for a couple of years, and then stopped as the logistics of it (new jobs, etc) made it too hard to do.
The Mariners:
Owners who would like to share their existing season tickets create an account at http://www.mariners.com/splitseason. Ticket owners can then invite friends, family and business colleagues to join their group. ... Once an account is established and partners are found, groups can divide up their tickets with an online draft. The Mariners Drafting Service allows group members to conduct a virtual draft live with group members making their game selections in real-time, or a customizable automated draft in which the computer selects games based on participants’ own rankings of preferred games.
Sweet right? They took the way people actually do it, and created a computer system to handle it.
