Joe Morgan’s peak

By Tangotiger, 10:08 AM

Jack Moore says this.

I’ll simply give you his Indi’s W/L for his five year peak, 1972-1976: 67 wins, negative 20 losses.  51 WAR.

On the basis of just those five seasons, and had Joe Morgan never played MLB at all before or since, you’d be hard-pressed to not put him in the Hall of Fame.

Joe Morgan is the ideal sabermetric player, and it is an enraging irony that he would singularly destroy sabermetrics if he could.
