Japanese pitch counts

By Tangotiger, 04:23 PM

Looks to be about 10 to 20 more pitches per start than MLB.  They also only start one game a week (6-man rotation, 6-game week).  So, it seems that if an MLBer is starting 34 games, then a Japanese pitcher is starting 26 games.  So the MLBer has 30% more starts, but 20% fewer pitches per start.  Seems like a wash.

I’d like to see total pitches thrown per season.  That would make the comparison easier.
