Is Sprint lazy?

By Tangotiger, 03:30 PM

"Since you have overage, we recommend you change your plan”

That’s what is showing on my screen.  I get about 5 to 10 dollars in overage charges.  And, they suggest, that because I have overage, I should change my plan.  But, not shown here, is that for me to change my plan, I have to pay an extra 20$ a month.

Indeed, if you DON’T have overage, you should (probably) downgrade your plan.  Because this means that you’ve left minutes or services on the table unused.

Anyway, it’s a little more complicated, and you’d have to work it out.  It depends how much discount you are getting in various services.  But, the idea, on its face, that because I have overages is the reason for me to change my plan is ridiculous and lazy analysis.  Or, simply, a marketing team that has figured out that the typical consumer would prefer a flat-rate pricing, than variable pricing.
