How to do highlight shows

By Tangotiger, 09:50 AM

I like what MLB Network does with their highlights where they let the “sounds of the game” take center stage.  Highlights is not filled with cheesy music, the voices are from the game announcers not the studio talking heads, and the highlights are not disproportionately HR.  If you have the chance, watch This Week In Baseball when it was hosted by Mel Allen.  That’s how you do highlight shows.  The best highlight video I’ve seen is the Canada Cup 1987 Blades of Glory.  It’s fantastic.  If you watch the following version (Canada Cup 1991) which was not good, you will see a huge difference.  It all comes down to “sounds of the game”.
