How to apologize

By Tangotiger, 10:48 PM

This is how you NOT do it:

It was not my intention to do so. But it’s obvious that I miscalculated the effect the column on Jaycee Dugard, and the events that she might have missed during her captivity, had on those who read, buy and advertise in our newspaper.

This is how he should say it:

What was I thinking?  I must have been out of my mind to introduce an innocent girl’s plight as a witty way to make my thoughts known.  It is a sickening article, and I’m completely embarrassed that I’ve let this horrible piece of work out in the world.  Please forgive me, if you can come down to my depths to do so.
