How stubborn is too stubborn?
We’re about to find out how long the Mets/Dominos (allegedly Citi) patch will last. What bothers me is that stuff like this goes through several people and levels of acceptance before approval. Obviously a major scr-w up, and let’s see how long it takes for the powers-that-be to be totally embarrassed and come up with a new design.
Remember when the “Big 3” were asked about their corporate jets, and then their lackey lawyer wrote a tough press release saying that they have more important things to worry about than corporate jets? That lawyer was a fool to have written the letter (not that he was necessarily wrong) as a press release (totally wrong). Next time they show up, they are proud to announce they car pooled.
When you are wrong, you don’t be a stubborn jack-ss and try to turn it around somehow. You back down and acknowledge your ignorance or stupidity. It was unveiled Jan 12, 2009 I believe. Let’s count how many days before saner heads prevail. (Let me add that Commissioner Stern backed down on the new ball when players complained, and same for Bettman on the new jerseys when the players complained.)
The Yankees patch is simply magnificent. It is, at worst, not embarrassing. The Mets patch is, at best, embarrassing.
