GM on NDA

Jay Feaster, former GM with the NHL’s Lightning, is a big proponent of non-disclosure agreements (NDA) with his employees, with the penalty being termination for cause, but has first-hand accounts that not all teams operate in this manner.  Even worse, some teams use this information against the tight-lipped team:

Still others, I was convinced, shared the information in hopes that public disclosure would become a distraction in our dressing room and derail whatever team success we might be having at the time.
