“Get me the hell out of Dodge!”
The crybaby millionaire want out of Houston.
This disgusts me. A guy has a guaranteed contract. The MLBPA will NOT let that player be released unconditionally by both sides. Therefore, Oswalt should shut up. If the MLBPA was really honest about this, and if Oswalt was really honest about this, then ANY player that wants to be released from his contract, including the guaranteed payment portion should be allowed to do so. Oswalt wants to give up his 50 million left, or whatever it is, fine. Houston may even be glad to release him Heck, Houston may want Oswalt to kick in 10 million dollars to buy out his contract from the Astros. Why not?
Until that happens, until the players honestly put in the CBA a provision that allows teams to buy out contracts, or outright tear up the contract at the player’s insistence (players are human being after all, and even marriages are not forever) players should shut up about wanting or asking to be traded.
