Forecasters Challenge 2009 - UPDATE!

By Tangotiger, 11:57 PM

I finally am getting around to compiling all the data.  Note that all results are preliminary, I still have to double-check my code, plus the season is ongoing.

If the season were to end today, it would be a 2-man race between Rotoworld and John Eric Hanson.  Together, they have 542 wins out of 1000 drafts!  The other 20 combine to win less than these two.  What a thrashing!

Marcel comes in 17th place, which is fantastic news!  I love it that almost everyone was able to beat the monkey.

Among the well-known (around here) systems, MGL is 6th, ZiPS is 7th, and PECOTA is 14th.  Shockingly, Chone is one of the 4 systems that never finished in the top 5 in any of the 1000 drafts.

Others in the top half: Anonymous (3rd), KFFL (4th), Steamer (high school kids project, 5th), Razzball (8th), Christopher (9th), Ask Rotoman (10th).  Everyone after that combined for 8 wins in 1000 drafts.
