FIP for your high school or college

By Tangotiger, 12:36 PM

Really basic stuff, but someone asked, so here’s my answer:

Do this for the overall league:
x = (13*HR+3*BB-2*SO)/IP
y = ERA - x

Do this for your player:
FIP = (13*HR+3*BB-2*SO)/IP + y

So, in MLB, “x” would come in at 1.1 or something.  And “y” would come in at 3.2 or something.

As simple as that.  You can change “BB” to “BB-IBB+HBP” if you wish.
