Fangraphs goes live with base running linear weights!

By , 01:05 AM

Starting today, FanGraphs is going to be displaying base running linear weights for players, in addition to all the other offensive and defensive stats.  It is calculated similar to outfield arm runs, except from the perspective of the base runner, and includes outs, advances, and holds on plays that do not involve an outfielder.

So now you can see pretty much the complete value/talent of a player - offense, defense, and base running.

Now, if someone can come up with a “clubhouse presence” linear weights formula, we’d have the complete package!
