Rally does a study. We do NOT want DER. We wants Linear Weights. We want runs. DER treats all hits the same. They are not. Indeed, after removing HR, the average run value of a GB is almost identical to the run value of a FB.
I like the basic idea that Sean has. In terms of improving what he is doing, we need to go from bases and outs, to runs. Because, not only is it about runs anyway, but the forecasts are based on runs.
