Derek Jeter has 3,022 MLB hits so far

By Tangotiger, 09:52 AM

That’s 2847 regular season hits and 175 post-season hits.  All those games count toward a championship season.

My rule is simple: if your team winning or losing directly impacts your team winning the World Series, then it’s a real game.  If not, it’s an exhibition game (as far as MLB is concerned).

Derek Jeter’s unofficial, but actual, 3000th hit in an MLB championship season was his game-leadoff HR in this game:

Whatever fan caught that ball: congratulations! You just made 100,000$ (or how much ever that ball is worth.)
