It absolutely is a workplace safety issue. It should be obvious, that this is (almost) the ultimate is workplace safety!
This is 100% the fault of MLBPA, unless MLB is someone putting up roadblocks.
For example, MLB I presume has to certify bat manufacturers, and if MLBPA wants to put in place extra safety, or outright ban certain products, do they require MLB’s assent?
Given the partnership nature, let’s say it’s 90% MLBPA and 10% MLB.
