Yahoo Mail

By Tangotiger, 01:32 PM

Yahoo Mail has recently (or that I noticed recently anyway) added an option so that you can link your mail from other accounts (GMail, AOL, etc).  What they do NOT offer however is an easy way to link your other Yahoo Mail accounts (or, I don’t see it well enough here).  I presume there must be tons of people like me, that has separate Yahoo accounts for separate personal/business matters.  I love Yahoo, and am perplexed that they don’t offer this as an option.

Gmail does the same thing. You can link in accounts from other email providers but not other Gmail accounts.

Perhaps a bit obtuse, but this may work. Use a free email provider like Gmail to connect to Yahoo Account 2. Then link the Gmail account to Yahoo Account 1.

I don’t use Yahoo...but I just set up a forwarding rule on all of my Gmail accounts to forward to my ‘collector’ Gmail account. You can link each Gmail account to the ‘collector’ account so that you can make it look like you are sending mail from the account of your choosing.

@ #1 ...actually Gmail does. You can have multiple inboxes in Gmail, all showing up when you login to one single account.

You love Yahoo?  I have a Yahoo account as a backup and I think their email is terrible.  Tons of spam ends up in the inbox, real messages end up in spam, and they seem to get easily hacked (I receive spam/baiting messages from Yahoo accounts of people I know which are not really from those people).

You should just link via the POP mail, you just need to provide the Yahoo POP servers in the information.  Yahoo should have them published somewhere.

There is a way to set your Yahoo up where you can easily go back and forth between Yahoo email accounts. Unfortunately, my former employer set it up for me, so I can’t explain it to you here.

The new Yahoo mail let’s you switch easily:

This is also the way Google Accounts is setup.

However, it’s still besides the main point.
