A collection of some of her best songs in one spot, plus her Grammy performance in 1989.
So I watched these vids, as well as a few others of her songs. Of all of these, as a lifelong musician it’s clear to me that her best ‘songs’ (IOW the compositions themselves) were (in no particular order
) The Greatest Love of All (despite the sappy lyrics) and Saving All My Love For You.
Add to these sophisticated songs her great voice and her unequalled tasty ‘phrasing’, and you have a couple of classic pop songs that give you the goosebumps when you hear them.
But that’s not all, folks. You can also hear these songs while watching her perform them on the videos. And that brings it to a whole new level, if you know what I’m sayin’.
But other than that, her other stuff, including her other hits, was just the usual pop drivel, albeit sung better than most....
