Not a fan of this article.
I meant to comment on that. A HR is worth +1.70 runs more than the out. And all these values are multiplied by some constant to get it on the OBP scale. For HR, it’s close to 2.
Tango, on the fangraphs wOBA version, how are IBB handled?
I think Dave uses my SQL that I posted on this blog, so that means IBB are excluded in the numerator and denominator.
Thanks for the correction guys. This wasn’t my best effort. The audience got the gist of it, though as BYB isn’t exactly a sabermetric hot bed.
