This week in player cowardice…
Jay Jaffe gives us the lowdown on Marvin Miller. I’m pro-union, but lately, I’ve been anti-union. MLB players basically are a bunch of Paris Hilton wannabes. None of them care about PED. They could have demanded a safer working environment, but they didn’t. They let the situation morph into what it was, basically letting the small gangs rule the streets, instead of policing themselves while they stayed in their mansions.
Is there no MLB player out there that has the will to create any kind of movement and stand up for something that is right? All we get are the token “let’s all wear Jackie’s number”. Nice and all. But, is that as far as it goes? Are players cowards? Self-involved? Apathetic? Uncaring? Do MLB players go to children’s hospitals without their people handling the arrangements?
What Marvin Miller needs is a Chris Chelios.
