Schilling v Primer

By Tangotiger, 05:42 PM

I posted this thread at SOSH, which managed to get someone to possibly stuff ballots in the battle for best blog.  As I noted on that thread:

I am not involved in any kind of ballot stuffing. In true John Kerry fashion, I actually voted for Primer, before I voted for Schilling. I posted a link here, and was just waiting for a fair turnout from SOSH, and that was it.

I feel like those innocent guys in the Mitchell (aka Radomski/McNamee) report!

Here’s the associated BTF link:

Incredible, really.

Walt had posted this in post 100:

Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na
Hey Hey
Goodbye

Obviously, in a jovial and fun manner.  And in that exact same spirit I started a thread at SOSH, waiting for the avalanche from their readers.  I was looking forward for a really close battle.

Somehow, that single post lead to some hostile posts at BTF, notably starting at post 168.

Anyway, I explained myself at SOSH.

I don’t get the fuss, but I await a discussion…

Someone’s taking this a little too seriously over there.

I don’t mind that they take it seriously.  To each their own.  But the out-and-out hostility is really over the top.  I was looking for a good ole fashion net-fight.

... as an OBSERVER!

I’m shocked, shocked, that the egos at BTF are easily bent out of shape.  There are some good posters there, but there are also a whole bunch who are high on snark to substance ratio is very high.

Oops...I don’t think you can get high on snark to substance ratio.  Maybe George Mitchell should check it out just to be sure.  Sorry.

Baseball is pretty fun. You’d think blogging about baseball would be pretty fun too. I remember a battle between USSM and Lookout Landing that was pretty cool......

That’s because the guys who run USSM and Lookout Landing are friends.  It’s a lot easier to have a friendly, humorous war between blogs when the authors have a pre-established relationship.

There’s several SOSH/BTF members, plus plenty of the BTFers are Redsox fans (they have their own Redsox section).  You’d think that it would be a natural frat party competition.  Oh well.
