Research Paper of Tom Preissing, NHL Player

Gotta love the internet.  Here is a research paper writting by an NHL player

the current [pre-2005] system of free agency does not have an impact on competitive balance in the NHL

I know you are into hockey stats, so was wondering if you had seen this paper on Markov process in hockey. Interesting but faily technical towards the end

Yes, very interesting, especially with the “dump and chase” versus the “bringing it in”.  I would have figured that the dump and chase was equivalent to a sac bunt (breakeven if done by a poor hitter).  Of course, we need way more data.
