Poll: Would you vote Raines for the Hall?

By Tangotiger, 02:37 PM

SabermetricsPoll

Knocking out the people whose opinions we are asked to ignore, we are at 92% after 56 votes.

Tango, IMHO if you want to help Raines get elected, you have to tell the story with the numbers. It’s like you need a jingle or catch-phrase to go with him. People are already applying the Rickey-lite label to him. On BBTF, your #40 post was more convincing to other people because others could see a little story of comparison between Rock and Rice. Obviously the numbers are there; however, you are trying to get him elected by writers who (mostly) want a story. Good luck.

Raines was intentionally walked almost twice as many times as Rice. Therefore, he had twice the fear going as they knew he may even steal second!

After 186 votes, and ignoring those people who have no opinion: 96% of you guys think that Raines should be in the Hall.  There’s 1% (2 respondents) of you that don’t think he deserves to be in the Hall, even in a medium-sized Hall of Fame.

Of those who think that Raines should be in the Hall, 59% have come to that conclusion on their own, while the other 41% buy into it due to sabermetrics or my constant persistence on it.

You guys obviously look NOTHING like the Holy Writers.
