Player ID Mappings 2009

By Tangotiger, 01:36 AM

Here’s the file for 2009.  There are 9291 players (majors and minors). You will see the following header:

MLBAM_ID|is_mlb|Pos_Class|PLAYER_TX|retro_id|bdb_id|stats_id|bis_id

That would be the MLBAM_ID, if he played in MLB, his Position Class (P, C, IF, OF, 1B), and his other IDs.

If he played in MLB in 2009, then the retro and BDB Ids are there.  That’s 1266 players.  Most of the guys who played in 2008 are there as well.

The stats_id and bis_id are incomplete.  If someone would be nice enough to fill that out, well, that’d be nice of you.
