Someone slipped, and Maury and Deadspin are there for you.

I don’t think anyone “slipped.” This was intentional, and it will be very interesting to see if we ever find out the person who leaked the info.

This is, potentially, a very big deal for baseball. It certainly is a big deal for the fans of those teams.

There’s no way for the teams to spin this. They can’t just say “Hey, we could spend $30M more and still suck”.

I do agree that this was intentional.

Baseball has a major problem with its confidential or private items.

I am not sure why a business that is granted an anti-trust exemption is allowed to keep it’s books secretive.  That seems to be unfair (to the public).

MGL: Congress is filled with Field of Dreamers.  There are different rules when it comes to officers of the court, celebrities, and baseball.

I agree it was an intentional leak to serve some purpose.  Note the teams whose financial information was released, and those big market rich teams which were not.

Interesting that the Pirates receive over 40 million for their TV and radio rights, while the Red Sox are under 20 million (according to the Globe).  The reason is clear.
