Mario Malkin Perreault

By Tangotiger, 11:25 PM

I love end-to-end goals.

And the closest I can find for Perreault were two at the 2:09 mark:

Just unreal to watch them play hockey back in those years without using some sort of helmets!

Tango is NHL much more popular in Canada then U.S.?

"Is NHL much more popular in Canada than U.S.?” Yes.

You know how on SportsCenter on ESPN there might be a few seconds on NHL highlights and there will be ten times the NFL coverage even when the NFL isn’t playing?  Well, reverse that.

Not a statistically valid snapshot, but these are the stories on the Toronto Sun webpage right now (it will be different when you click on it because it’s dynamic):

Blue Jays spring training
Curling

NBA possible expansion to Vancouver
NBA possible retirement of Steve Nash (who is Canadian)
Tennis

Interesting… So it seems like for the casual Canadian sports fan, the list would look something like this:

(highest to lowest priority)

1. NHL
2. MLB
3. NBA
4. Curling
5. Tennis
5. more NHL or just hockey in general.
6. NFL

I don’t think your list is accurate.  You are missing CFL, which is a big deal, and NFL is a big deal as well (not low like you have it).  And golf too.

Throw in also junior hockey.  And figure skating.

All I can say is that hockey is #1.

Tom:  What about Curling?  (Wait, that’s not a sport!)

Watching those goals reminded me of the Canadiens in their 60s-70s glory.  I seem to recall several end-to-end goals.
