Injury database?

By Tangotiger, 10:08 PM

I’ve received a few requests in the last two weeks for an injury database.

I know there were a couple out there floating around.  Josh maybe?  Or Zimm?  Anyway, if someone wants to help out the community, please post a link to your injury DB.  Ideally, you have it cross-referenced to MLBAM or Retro IDs.

I remember Jeff Z and/or Brian Cartwright were tracking either all injuries or just TJ surgery history at one point.

Josh’s database from 2002 to 2009 was available on his website, but since then the site was hacked. I have tried to contact him with no luck.  I would not mind hosting the data (I have it in my database).

I collected the 2010 values and here they are:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApDc5PGsBzgVdDVhcEM5RTB2OUU3R1h0cmR1ZUJRTXc

I am about 80% done with the 2011 data.  I need to find some time to finish it.

Here is a 2011 database I cut and pasted from a web site. I forgot which one.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgwSI9hFVCZIdFN3ZlktRWU5R2U1dmVObTJWSlQ3V1E&hl=en_US#gid=0

Keep in mind that when they say “off DL” the date is actually the date they went on the DL for some reason, and it duplicates another entry which lists when they went on the DL (with the same date).

MGL, I attempted to view the link and it says I don’t have permission. If you’re willing to do change the sharing permissions, use the File menu in the Google Docs window to select Share. In the dialog that pops up, click Change, then choose the sharing option you’re willing to allow.

Done, thanks for the heads up! I am going to meld this file with retrosheet and MLB ID’s. When I do, I’ll post it here…

Jeff, by any chance have you finished the 2011 database?

Done, sorry for not posting:
