Emails

By Tangotiger, 10:16 PM

I just went through my inbox-es, and responded to everyone I had backlogged.  If anyone is awaiting a reply, please re-email me, and I’ll get to it.  I aim for 100% response rate.  Best email to use is tom~tangotiger~net, or just use the “Mailbag” link at the top right of every page.

You have to admire someone who plans on responding to every non-spam email he receives.

It bothers me to no end when I read something like this:

Hi, while we’d love to respond to every email, we simply cannot.  But rest assured that we do read each and every one.

I read this as:

Hi, do you know what kind of an important person you are trying to reach?  I made my email address public in case someone equally (or more, if that’s possible) important is trying to reach me.  Even though you need me, I’ll get back to you if I need you.

I’m not going to be one of those people.

I don’t know that you should necessarily admire common decency.  I’d rather you scorn those who don’t practice it.
